FiXT Neon is the synthwave sub-label of FiXT, the independent label founded by the artist Klayton, who is also behind Celldweller and Scandroid. The Frekvenci archive lists 113 FiXT Neon releases from only 21 artists, from 2016 to 2025. It is a tight roster with a recognisable sound: vocal, cyberpunk-flavoured and closer to rock and pop than to instrumental night-drive records.
Where did FiXT Neon come from?
Music Connection reported in October 2018 that FiXT was adding two sub-labels, FiXT Neon and FiXT Labs, while moving its headquarters from Detroit to Los Angeles.[1] Neon was described as dedicated to the synth-heavy sounds of synthwave, chillwave and indie pop, with Scandroid, Sunset Neon and Fury Weekend forming the debut lineup.[1] Klayton, the label's owner, president and founder, said it had become clear that two sub-labels could open doors for more artists.[1]
By July 2021 FiXT was reorganising around genres again. Regen Magazine recalled Neon as formed in 2018 for synthwave, chillwave and electro-pop, and noted the arrival of the synthpop duo Nouveau Arcade, alongside a new EDM imprint called FiXT Noir.[2]
One date oddity: the archive's earliest FiXT Neon release is from 2016, two years before the imprint was announced. Dates on file can be reissue dates, and artists were often moved to the new label later, so we do not read 2016 as the start.
A boom, then a wind-down

The label lists a single release in 2016 and two in each of 2017 and 2018. Then it jumps to 20 in 2019 and 30 in 2020. It runs at 24 in 2021, 16 in 2022, 9 in 2023, 8 in 2024 and 1 in 2025: three busy years, then a steady fall. Unlike 2026, 2025 is a full year in our data, so the low figure is not a part-year effect, though recent months can lag in the databases we use.
Format explains the volume. Of 113 listed releases, 85 are singles, 19 are LPs, 6 are EPs and 2 are compilations. This is a singles label that issues a track at a time, with albums as the exception.
By main tag the catalogue is mostly synthwave (71), with a retrowave strand (27), synthpop (9) and a few darkwave and cyberpunk tags. The co-tags are the interesting part: "pop rock" on 23 releases, pop on 23, "electronic rock" on 22 and cyberpunk on 15, alongside darksynth (15) and indie pop (10). In plain terms, songs with guitars and vocals sit next to the arpeggios.

What is the house sound?
Play three FiXT Neon records back to back and expect clean production, chorus-forward songs and a polished edge. Scandroid, interviewed on FiXT's own site in 2017, said that 80s new wave was a sound he had wanted to make at some point, which is a fair brief for the imprint's roster of vocal acts.[3] The sound is explored in our If you like Scandroid: artists to try next page. For the pop-and-synth boundary these records straddle, Synthpop and synthwave: where the 1980s sound meets the revival is the better map, and What is darksynth? The heavy, horror-lit side of synthwave covers the darker tags.
Who is on the roster?
The roster is concentrated. Fury Weekend (Belarus) has 22 of its 32 listed releases here. Essenger has 17, 3FORCE (Russia) 9, Mega Drive 9, Nouveau Arcade 8, PRIZM 7, LeBrock 7, DEADLIFE 6 and Scandroid 5. Several others are small one-project catalogues, such as Ace Marino, OVRGRWN and The Bad Dreamers.

Is FiXT Neon still going?
On paper, yes: the archive lists a FiXT Neon release in the last twelve months of its snapshot. But the pace is far below the 2019 to 2021 peak, with one listed release in 2025. FiXT reorganised into genre divisions in 2021, and where Neon sits in that structure may have changed since; we found no 2026 statement either way.[2]
